Just a second while I drag out my soap box. My advice is to always use motorcycle oil. Motorcycle engines are very different from automobile engines and demand different performance from the oil, like lubricating the clutch. As far as using synthetic vs mineral oil, if you want to spend the money, go for it. Just don't try to get more miles out of synthetic than you would any other oil. It gets just as dirty and contains just as much moisture. Change the filter every time you change oil. Remember, 10W40 oil is 10 weight oil with polymers added to increase viscosity at high temperatures. 10W60 oil is the same 10 weight oil with more polymers added. The polymers don't lubricate, just increase viscosity.
